Abstract

In the past twenty years, we have been through the beginnings of the inclusion of children with disabilities in regular schools. We expected a lot and we expect a lot, we are trying to improve the educational system and the curriculum in various ways. The current situation shows all preconditions have not yet been fulfilled nor are there ideal conditions in regular schools in order to implement the inclusive process without any problems. The improvement in the child’s education depends on the child’s difficulties, the readiness of the school, and the parents’ knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages the school their child is attending provides.

In this paper we will answer questions about the extent to which parents are informed, if we are on the right track when it comes to educating children with developmental disabilities and whether the capacities and potentials of the child have adequately been exploited through the process of inclusive education.

The aim of the research is to examine and determine according to the opinion of the parents of children with developmental difficulties, advantages and disadvantages of education in regular or specialized educational institutions.
