Abstract

Contemporary trends in employing on the open labor market imply an increasing representation of HR managers and recruiters who are coordinating sourcing, interviewing, selecting and hiring employees processes. The aim of the research was to examine the perception of recruiters and HR managers about the most appropriate forms of employment and difficulties in employing persons with disabilities. The research was conducted on a sample of 18 respondents of both sexes, from the area of Herzegovina-Neretva (33.3%), Tuzla (11.1%) and Sarajevo Canton (55.6%), using the Questionnaire on employers’ opinion about work and employment of persons with disabilities (Kozjak & Lapat, 2018). The research results show that recruiters and HR managers generally have positive opinions towards the employment of people with disabilities. The highest frequencies of perceived difficulties in the employment of persons with disabilities relate to certain variables in the areas of communication and adaptation of the workplace, while the work efficiency and the influence of a person with disability on other employees are not perceived as difficulties for the employment of persons with disabilities. Statistically significant differences were mostly determined in relation to the working field of company where the respondents were employed. Results also show that recruiters and HR managers perceive employment on the open labor market as the most appropriate form of employment for persons with disabilities, and no statistically significant differences were found in relation to the working field of the company in which they are employed or previous personal and professional experience with persons with disabilities.
